Workshop Vehicle Technician

As a Vehicle Technician you will be responsible for regular inspections on tracked vehicles, carrying out fault diagnosis, service and repairs to required standards to ensure safe operation of the vehicles for the Museum’s events and activities. This work will include completing paperwork such as job card write ups, service report sheets and using the Museum’s in-house recording systems.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a busy working environment and to actively seek solutions to problems.

You will have experience in maintaining tracked or commercial vehicles and vehicle systems although candidates from a light vehicle background will also be considered.  Experience in maintaining, repairing and overhauling complex vehicles and sub-systems, diagnostic and fault finding mechanical, dc electrical and hydraulics is a must. 

The Vehicle Technician will be expected to drive vehicles at events and activities organised by The Tank Museum, for which tracked vehicle driver training will be provided.

An NVQ level 3 in motor vehicle mechanics, or equivalent qualification in light/heavy vehicle repair, along with a full valid UK driving license is essential. 

Salary - £24,000 - £27,000 DOE.

Contract - Permanent

Hours - Full Time, 37.5 hours p/w

Interviews - Will be held onsite at The Tank Museum w/c 31st October 2022.
