Volunteer Trustee - Collections

The Tank Museum would like to recruit up to two volunteer trustees to play a lead role in advising the Board and staff on best practice in The Tank Museum.

Our trustees are collectively responsible for the governance of the Museum and in addition, each trustee will normally have a special area of interest or expertise.

A comprehensive understanding of professional standards of the museum industry as defined by the ACE accreditation scheme are required together with the ability to bring expertise on museum practice. You will also play a role in the strategic direction and the compliance of the museum.

The Tank Museum believes that its board members should reflect the broad diversity of our visitors and as such we would particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic backgrounds and women.

A willingness to contribute in board and committee meetings four times a year is required. Where you will provide an oversight on the activities related to collecting, collection care and learning. The meetings will be either based at Bovington or may be carried out remotely depending on circumstances.
