Retail and Visitor Services Assistant (Online Fulfilment)

The Museum shop and online sales generate considerable profit which services other areas of our Museum. The Museum shop stocks a vast array of gifts and military memorabilia for the onsite & online audience. Online sales have recently grown considerably to form a substantial part of the business, taking more money than our onsite shop. The Tank Museum Online Shop has become a well-known, popular, and strong brand in the heritage sector and is going from strength to strength.

As a Retail and Visitor Services Assistant you will be trained to have a general knowledge of all areas within the department from the shop through to stock control. 

This role is for a Retail and Visitor Services Assistant who will be trained to become a specialist within our online fulfilment team. Here you will be part of the team responsible for processing our online orders, picking merchandise, packing items and arranging shipping for the products sold. Full training will be given, however experience in customer service and sales would be an advantage.   

The online sales have been growing and are now a substantial part of the business and therefore seeing an online or on the phone customer with the same importance as a customer onsite is key going forward.

You will need to be practical and hands-on with excellent communication skills and to be comfortable working as part of a team.

Salary

£17,062 ages 18 -20 

£22,601 ages 21+

Contract - Permanent

Working Hours - Full Time. You will work 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7.  Due to the nature of the role you will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays.
